Posting Bail basically is a transaction where you are posting money in a contract for the release of someone arrested for a crime. When someone is arrested and booked for a crime, they have different options to help them get released from jail before their case is over:
Santa Monica Surety Bond
The step involved in getting a Santa Monica Surety Bond is to get in touch with a bail bond agent, and arrange for them to post the amount of bail for you. This includes signing a contract and putting up collateral as security for the Santa Monica bail bond. This is how our Santa Monica Bail Bond Agent can help.
You can pay the Cash bond yourself and it must be paid by cashier’s check, money order, or personal check and can only be delivered to the detention center where the defendant is being held.
In this case, the court holds real property as collateral and it acts as security and as a condition of the release of the defendant. The Court Magistrate usually needs to approve this bail option, and requires a disclosure of the full property profile and sometimes a full appraisal is necessary too. Most states do not offer this option, and can take a lot of time.
Own Recognizance
Usually, the bail option of being released on your own recognizance is offered to people who have no prior criminal record and were detained for a non-violent offense. This option is offered to defendants that the courts believe are not high-risk to the public. The defendant does not need to post a bond to be released from custody.
Criminal Bail Bonds Santa Monica
In a Criminal Bond, the amount of how much bail is will be determined by the court. If offered by the court, the cost of the bond to the defendant is determined by how much the court sets the bond at. In this scenario, a Bail Bond of $30,000 will cost the defendant $3,000 to post bail. So once the court sets the amount of bail (whatever that amount is), you will pay a 10% premium to post bail – This amount is set by the insurance commission. When your bail is posted, that makes the 10% rate non-refundable and the defendant is released from the detention facility. The amount of bail posted is set up to insure the defendant appears in court when the judge directs them to.
Generally, Santa Monica Bail Bond Agents will post bond for a defendant, and that secures the release from custody for them. A contract is required, and an Insurance Company, or Surety Company, is guaranteeing the full value of the bond. It becomes the responsibility of the Santa Monica Bail Bondsman to the Surety Company to pay for any costs or losses if the defendant fails to appear at any court appearances.

Notice To Indemnitor
You are becoming financially responsible, and an Indemnitor for the value of the bail bond when you sign the bail agreement. You now become financially responsible for all of the court ordered appearances by the defendant. Any other costs, arising non-appearance in court, including forfeiture, exoneration, or reinstatement of the bond is your responsibility. You are responsible for any and all expenses incurred, up to the full penal amount, if the defendant flees and needs to apprehended and surrendered back to the court.
If such a forfeiture occurs, and the matter is not reinstated within the time allowed by law, or if the defendant is not surrendered back to the court by the time allowed by law, you will be required to pay any expenses, unpaid premiums, and the full penal amount of the forfeited bond, or bonds. As an Indemnitor and holding the financial and legal responsibility, you have the right to request this agency to apprehend the defendant and surrender him back to the court at the time you do not wish to continue to assume the legal and financial obligation that comes with this.
